🎉 Official Announcement: Hope Paws Support Fund Is Now a California Nonprofit 🐾

My name is Natalia, and I am one of the founders of the Hope Paws Support Fund. For years, I have been dedicated to helping dogs in need—advocating for them, sharing their stories, and doing whatever I could to give them a chance at a better life. But everything changed when the crisis became deeply personal.

When my own dog, Ariel, suddenly required urgent veterinary care, I faced overwhelming financial hardship. In just a few days, medical bills mounted beyond what I could manage. I was forced into an impossible position—choosing between saving my beloved dog and protecting my own financial survival. No loving pet owner should ever have to make that choice. That experience opened my eyes to a painful reality: countless families face the same crisis every day.

They love their pets, want to do the right thing, and would fight for them—but lack the financial resources when emergency care is needed most. In those moments, dogs suffer, families are torn apart, and too often, animals are surrendered or lost simply because help wasn’t available.

At the same time, I was deeply involved in the rescue community. As the administrator of the Facebook group Dogs Matter: 🚨 Rescue 🚨 Adopt 🚨 Foster 🚨 Share, I built a network of passionate animal lovers, rescuers, fosters, and advocates. Through this work, I helped connect dogs with rescues and shelters, shared urgent cases, and personally pledged funds to pull dogs from shelters and give them a second chance at life. I saw firsthand how pledges were often the deciding factor: a rescue could pull a dog with solid funding pledges, while dogs without financial backing were left behind. Those pledges didn’t just help—they directly saved lives.

Seeing these situations from every angle—pet owners in crisis, shelters overwhelmed, and rescuers stretched beyond their limits—made one thing clear: a safety net is urgently needed, one that steps in when families and rescues are doing everything they can, but still need support.

Our Official California Nonprofit Milestone

I’m proud to share that as of February 12, 2026, Hope Paws Support Fund has been officially approved as a Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation in the State of California.

Official site: https://hopepawsfund.org

This milestone strengthens our ability to:

  • Operate with full transparency and accountability

  • Build strategic partnerships with rescues and shelters

  • Apply for grants and institutional funding

  • Expand emergency support for dogs in life-threatening situations

  • Create long-term, sustainable impact

This is more than a filing approval—it is the structural foundation for scalable animal rescue support.

Our Mission

Hope Paws Support Fund is a dog rescue support organization and a dog medical assistance nonprofit dedicated to reducing animal suffering and promoting animal welfare by providing direct, meaningful assistance where it matters most.

Our mission is to:

  • Provide financial assistance for veterinary and medical care to low-income pet owners and animal rescue organizations

  • Support the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of dogs from shelters across the United States

  • Prevent unnecessary euthanasia and ensure dogs receive the care they deserve

Every effort is guided by the belief that no dog should suffer, and no family should face heartbreak alone, simply because help was out of reach.

How Your Support Turns into Rescue

We operate with complete transparency. Here is how Hope Paws Support Fund turns your generosity into action:

  1. Donating to a Specific Dog
Your donation is placed as a pledge for that dog’s rescue and medical care. Partner rescues are immediately notified, significantly increasing the dog’s chances of being pulled from the shelter and placed into a foster or adoptive home.

  2. General Donations (Where Most Needed)
Contributions go into our Urgent Intervention Fund, supporting:

    • Dogs and cats on euthanasia lists with little to no time left

    • Emergency medical cases requiring immediate, life-saving treatment

    • Decisions are informed by urgent cases shared within our rescue community

  3. Grant Applications (Aid Program)
Financial assistance is available to qualified low-income pet owners and approved 501(c)(3) rescue organizations to cover unexpected veterinary bills and prevent surrender.
(Note: Grant awards are temporarily paused while we rebuild resources. Your donation reactivates this vital lifeline.)

Every contribution directly strengthens our ability to act quickly when a dog’s life depends on it.
